Review: The Sound of Music

Hey readers!
It's time for my review of The Sound of Music.
I would just like to start my post by saying I hope Steven Houghton, who played Captain Georg von Trapp during the first half but could not carry on due to an illness, is feeling better. I would also like to say well done to Lynden Edwards who carried on as Captain Georg von Trapp during act two. I know it must be very hard to just slip into a role half-way through a show. As they say the show must go on! Anyway, this show was absolutely amazing. From the sets to the choreography, it was utterly stunning. It had a fabulous cast, especially Danielle Hope as Maria Rainer, Steven Houghton/Lynden Edwards as Captain Georg von Trapp, Howard Samuels as Max Detweiler, Jan Hartley as Mother Abbess, Sarah Soetaert as Elsa Schraeder, Luke George as Rolf Gruber and last but certainly not least all the children. They were all amazing actors, they all were all amazing singers and finally they were all amazing dancers. To top it all off they also had great costumes. This was such a lovely production and very well edited. I cannot think of anything to fault this show on. I can't believe shows like Cats and Once go to the West End and this is only touring. This is better than most West End shows! If The Sound of Music is coming to a venue near you then I would advise you to book it straight away!

The featured star of The Sound of Music is, drum roll please… DANIELLE HOPE!

Danielle Hope was born for this role. If it does ever go back to the West End I really hope she will still be in it.

Now for the final verdict on The Sound of Music. I give The Sound of Music…

I really cannot stress enough how amazing this show was, I suggest to any musical fan to go and see this.

Think it should have got a lower rating? If so comment below.
